Stewart and Jack first met when Stewart called and scheduled Dr. Woolsey to come and geld one of his horses. During the farm call, both talked about their lifelong love of horses and their dedication to their care and well-being. It was during that visit that the seeds of friendship were planted.
Over time, Jack had the opportunity to accompany Stewart on several farm calls. It was then that Jack found himself most truly impressed by Stewart’s knowledge and professionalism, and the thoroughness of Stewart's dental exams. Jack watched how  Stewart patiently answered clients questions and explained to horse owners how much a regular dental maintenance program could contribute to a horse’s good health and increased life span. Stewart also explained that even in the field, instrument cleanliness and other careful clinical practices can help to assure clients of a safe and successful dental procedure. Stewart Kerr has become a special favorite of miniature horse owners and breeders as he is especially equipped to provide routine dental care and specialized dentistry services to miniature horses.
In the end, the mutual respect and friendship came down to two simple facts - Dr. Woolsey wanted to stay busy and involved in veterinary medicine and Stewart Kerr wanted to continue to do what he loves to do, provide excellent dental care for horses - hence, the birth of Kerr Equine Dental
